As you may be already aware, in an effort to reduce the operating deficit at the Hermitage we are changing the opening hours of the Clubhouse during the winter month.
From the 1st of November to the 31st of March the Clubhouse will be closed Monday to Friday, opening the Clubhouse & Cafe to the public on Saturday and Sunday only.
On weekdays therefore no changing or toilet facilities will be available for golfers. The course will remain open for play and green fees can be deposited in the honesty box.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause but hope that you understand that, in these difficult financial conditions, difficult decisions have to be made.
We will be making every effort to improve the financial sustainability of the Hermitage and to get back to full opening in the future. If you have any questions please contact me at the email address noted below.
A unique place for positive outcomes
The Hermitage is a spectacular 9-hole golf course in the Braid Hills, a warm and friendly cafe with coffees, cakes and hot lunches, a gift shop, a market garden, classes and workshops, and a whole lot more. The Hermitage is also a place of opportunities, a social venture developed by Autism Ventures Scotland to help those they support to develop and improve their skills, with occupational activities and employment.
The Hermitage Ethos
Anyone can visit and enjoy The Hermitage. Play golf on our specially designed golf course, call into the cafe for breakfast, lunch or tea - or just have a fantastic cup of coffee. Enjoy a walk on the beautiful Braid Hills.
The Hermitage offers a relaxed and calm space and welcomes everyone.
Book a round of golf
Nestled in amongst the Braid Hills The Hermitage golf course offers a spectacular backdrop for a fun round of golf. The 9-hole course is perfect for kids and families looking for a more relaxed and enjoyable round of golf. There's no dress code, and players can share clubs.
Whether looking for a reasonably priced but still challenging game, or the chance to chill out, and enjoy a game of golf in beautiful countryside, The Hermitage is the perfect choice.
Rates and bookings
The Hermitage exists in order to provide training and support to people with Autism. If you’d like to get involved with The Hermitage then please do not hesitate to get in touch or pop in and pay us a visit. We have many opportunities for people to get involved onsite.
The green keepers welcome anyone who would like to help out on the course and get it looking like a championship links! Likewise, we are always looking for people to help out with the maintenance of the grounds - from footpath building to pond digging, there’s always something to do. If working indoors is more to your taste then pop into the clubhouse to find an opportunity that doesn’t involve the elements! In café we bake homemade cakes and prepare fresh food daily so we can always do with a helping hand. Whatever you're interested in at The Hermitage there is something for everyone.
